Coastal Shred Academy

Coastal Shred Academy is a local, community-rooted surf school in Tofino offering safe, fun, and progression-focused surf lessons at Cox Bay and Chesterman Beach.

Led by certified local instructors with deep knowledge of these dynamic beaches, our lessons are supportive, confidence-building, and tailored to first-time surfers, families, couples, and beginners. All equipment is included, so guests can arrive ready to surf.

Coastal Shred Academy grew out of youth surf and skate programs delivered in partnership with Wickaninnish Community School and the District of Tofino. That same educational, community-first approach carries through to every lesson, helping guests build ocean awareness, strong fundamentals, and a genuine connection to surfing in Tofino.
