Developing Strong Landscape Paintings – Three day Painting workshop
Dates: Nov 15, 16 & 17, from 9am-4pm, daily.
Location: Tofino Community Hall Activity Room
This three -day workshop will expose students to techniques used for planning and developing a strong landscape painting. It is designed for the serious beginner (with painting experience) to the intermediate painter who are interested in my approach to planning & interpreting the landscape. This is for acrylic and oil painters. Demos will be done in acrylics.
We will begin with a review/discussion of the fundamentals. Day one and two we will plan a painting leading to best compositional choices using a supplied reference. Day one will be a West Coast Pacific scene. Day two will focus on perspective learning developing a painting of a building. We will develop and critique the paintings together.
On the third day, students will work under supervision from their own reference using the principles developed in days one and two. We end with a final critique and general discussion.
There will be lots of learning & lots of fun.
