The evening will include special guest speaker Tla-o-qui-aht Master Carver/Artist Joe David. Born and raised at Opitsaht, Joe went to public school and art school in “the states”. He started mastering traditional art forms in the late 1960s. Joe returned to his traditional homeland in mid-1970s to live and learn traditional songs and ceremony. He is a leading figure in modern Northwest Coast Indigenous Art with major exhibits in many places in the world.
