Beading with Elizabeth George- Orange Shirts

Join us for a hands-on workshop with Nuu-chah-nulth Artist Elizabeth George at the Tofino Visitor Centre as part of the Truth Honour and the Way Forward Exhibit.

This exhibit showcases the work of Ucluelet Secondary School students, who have created various projects following their engagement with personal stories from Knowledge Holders and residential school Survivors. These projects include poetry, orange shirts and investigations into the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s 94 Calls to Action. We are also featuring the latest exhibit from the Legacy of Hope Foundation: Youth on Reconciliation: Imagine a Canada.
Elizabeth George will host a free Orange Shirt Beading workshop from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
We'll have refreshments, drumming & poetry readings at 4:15 pm.
Additionally, the exhibit will be on display October 8th to 19th at the Tofino Visitor Centre, 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
