WildSafeBC Neighbourhood Champion Program
Come learn about being a Neighbourhood Champion!
WildSafeBC is hosting an open, friendly session with resources, infographics, and snacks for you and any friends, partners, or kids you’d like to bring along.
A Neighbourhood Champion helps educate their community and keep their corner of town attractant‑free. It’s a simple, meaningful way to support local wildlife and keep neighbours safe.
As a Champion, you might:
Talk to neighbours: Share what habituation and food‑conditioning mean, explain what attractants are, and chat about recent wildlife activity. You can even help organize neighbourhood events like a BBQ, games night, or outdoor movie evening.
Identify problems: Use the At‑Home Checklist to spot unsecured attractants. Report major or recurring concerns to Bylaw or Conservation Officers so issues can be addressed quickly.
Offer solutions: Suggest practical ways to secure attractants, help raise awareness, and point people toward WildSafeBC for more guidance.
