BC Transit fares now available for purchase at the Tofino Visitor Centre
We’re excited to share that BC Transit fares are now available for purchase at the Tofino Visitor Centre.
Because the Umo app is only available in app stores for countries where Umo is supported, some visitors may not be able to download it while travelling. To make transit more accessible for everyone, we’re now selling transit passes directly at the Tofino Visitor Centre for those who prefer or need to purchase fares in person.
Fares can currently be purchased at the following locations (subject to change):
- Tofino Visitor Centre
- District of Tofino Municipal Office
- Pacific Rim Visitor Centre
- Ucluelet Community Center
Taking transit is one of the simplest ways to avoid parking congestion during peak season, reduce your environmental impact, avoid parking costs, and enjoy a relaxed ride along the coast.
Transit makes it easier to travel between n̓ačiqs (Tofino), Yuułuʔiłʔatḥ (Ucluelet), Yaaqsis (Long Beach), the Yuułuʔiłʔatḥ community of hitaću, and the ƛaʔuukʷiʔatḥ (Tla‑o‑qui‑aht) communities of hisaawist̓a (Esowista) and t̓ayḥiistanis (Ty‑histanis).
The service runs seven days a week, with frequent round‑trips from early morning to late evening.
Transit users can pay with exact cash, the Umo app, or a reloadable Umo card available at the Tofino Visitor Center. Learn more about fare details and routes and schedules.
