This Fall, Expect Less in Tofino - the Fall/Winter Campaign is Live

This fall, we're inviting BC residents to expect less in Tofino. That is, less traffic, less busy-ness - and less to pay for the cost of accommodations.

Based on market research conducted earlier this year, BC residents showed good awareness of Tofino as a destination and desire to travel here. This campaign addresses the perception of the high cost of accommodation year-round, which is seen as a travel barrier.

This campaign is running from the week of September 2 to December 8, then again from December 30 to January 30.

Ads are phased into different parts of the travel journey: to dream, plan, and book.

By clickling/tapping on these ads, people will be driven to different pages:

Audiences in the first and current phase of the campaign, "dream" ---> homepage

Audiences in the second and concurrent phase of the campaign, "plan" ---> this blog post

Audiences in the third and final phase of the campaign, "book" ---> the new Packages and Offers page, featuring 17 offers from 13 accommodation members, some of whom have partnered with other members businesses to enhance their offer.

Ads are running across TikTok, Meta (Instagram and Facebook), as well as in native format, that is, within content/articles appearing on websites the target audience is visiting.

If you're driving home to the coast from Nanaimo, you might also see this artwork on the digital billboard we employ year-round by traffic lights at the Snaw-naw-as Esso station at Nanoose Bay on Highway 19.
