Travel Media and Travel Trade Events

This year, the 2026 Travel Media Association of Canada's (TMAC) Conference and Media Marketplace was held in Richmond, BC. TMAC brings together travel media and tourism industry representatives from across the country to build relationships, share destination updates, learn about the host location and participate in educational seminars throughout the four-day conference. 

One of the conference's key components is the Media Marketplace, where Danielle participated in 20 scheduled appointments with editors, freelance journalists and bloggers from varying outlets, including The Toronto Star, Conde Nast, Travel + Leisure, Globe and Mail, The Modern Traveller, Hotel-Scoop and others. 

Following TMAC, Danielle attended Explore Vancouver Island, a travel trade showcase, hosted by 4TVI in Courtenay, BC.  This event focuses on networking with Receptive Tour Operators, Tour Operators and Wholesalers to help expand their offerings throughout the Vancouver Island region. These operators specialize in diverse markets such as Europe, Asia, the South Pacific, and North America. Many of these operators already work with businesses throughout Tofino, making this is great opportunity to share updates about anything new and noteworthy, membership changes, and highlights from our community.
