Tourism Tofino-Sponsored “Weekend Oyster Worshipper” (WOW) Getaway Contest Prize Includes 2 Nights At Award-Winning Wickaninnish Inn

TOFINO, BC – October 23, 2012 – Tourism Tofino and the Clayoquot Oyster Festival Society today unveiled details of the Clayoquot Oyster Festival to be held in Tofino, British Columbia, from November 14 – 17, 2012.  In its 16th year, the Clayoquot Oyster Festival welcomes food lovers from around the world each year to experience a variety of culinary and educational events including oyster farm tours, a costume ball and a gala dinner showcasing unique oyster dishes prepared by the area’s renowned chefs. The 2012 Clayoquot Oyster Festival slogan is “Indulgently Keeping Tofino’s Population Growing Since 1997.”

New to the festival this year is the Tourism Tofino-sponsored “Weekend Oyster Worshipper” (WOW) getaway contest with a prize package valued at $1000.00 including:

“The Clayoquot Oyster Festival celebrates Tofino’s natural connection to oyster culture,” said Festival Coordinator, Bobby Lax.   “The oyster provides pleasure like no other food and since Tofino is a place built around the natural pleasures of life, the festival showcases where and how we live.  Over the course of 4 days, festival attendees will have the unique opportunity to tour an oyster farm, dress up in under-the-sea themed costumes, take in a live cabaret show, sample oyster dishes from 12 talented chefs, and join the crowd of 600 people slurping back 10,000 oysters.”
