Address
Hellesen Drive public access point, Tofino, British Columbia

Traditionally named TinWis, translated from Tla-o-qui-aht as “calm waters”, MacKenzie Beach is sheltered from most wind by large tidal rocks. This beach is known for its peaceful waters with only the gentlest of waves. It’s a popular destination for families with small children, especially at its south end.

Public access to this beach is reached by turning from the Pacific Rim Highway onto Hellesen Drive.

  • Access:
Entrance ramp, facilitating beach access for everyone.  A Mobi-Mat connects the ramp to the beach from May long weekend until Thanksgiving long weekend.
  • Accessible parking & bathroom.
