Pacific Rim National Park Reserve, BC

From Highway 4, follow the sign for Wickaninnish Beach / Kwisitis Visitor Centre

  • This an 800 meter loop on a wooden boardwalk. The boardwalk trail is level and is approximately five feet wide.  Many of the wooden planks are weathered and uneven, which can make for a bumpy ride at times.
  • Pacific Rim National Park Reserve is home to a variety of contrasting ecosystems with the Shorepine bog being arguably one of the most underlooked, compared to the rainforest. Glance into a realm resembling a bonsai forest, where ancient shorepines grow stunted and gnarled (the moss carpeted soil is high in acidity).
  • Spot a Sundew, a carniverous plant, aka, our version of a venus flytrap, along with Evergreen Huckleberries and grass-like Sedges.
