WildSafe BC + Tofino Visitor Services pop up

August 12, 2023 @ 10:30 am - 3:30 pm

The west coast of Vancouver Island has some of the greatest diversity of habitat and wildlife in Canada. It also has some of the highest numbers of bears, wolves and cougars. Are you a visitor to the Pacific Rim, new to the area, an outdoor enthusiast or local resident seeking advice on how to safely coexist in wildlife country?

Come by at our interactive booth for fun facts about our fascinating local wildlife that we live and play alongside, to learn about how to be safe by avoiding conflict and negative encounters when recreating and camping in wildlife country, for bear spray tips, bear, wolf and cougar skulls as well as other biologics, brochures, colouring pages, activity books and more.

Use the opportunity to also gather a variety of information on how you can maintain a WildSafe backyard. Electric Fencing is an effective solution to protect your livestock coop, waste shed or fruit tree from wildlife and to prevent human-wildlife conflicts around your home. Meet your WildSafeBC Community Coordinators and get helpful tips for the installation and maintenance of Electric Fencing between 11:30am and 12:30pm.

Also, the Tofino Visitor Centre team will be set up to answer any visitor inquiries.
